Hi, I'm Mike.

I'm a purpose-driven, 25-year-old IT professional currently serving Dane County renters as a Resident Relations Coordinator with Steve Brown Apartments' West Side team.
I have a passion for helping and connecting with others, exploring the planet, and finding ways to incorporate data analytics and information system management into the empowerment of my community. My heartfelt desire to be counted amongst change-makers has motivated my every action. Over the course of my professional career and civic involvement, I've eagerly devoted countless hours to the pursuit of these aspirations.
Beginning in February 2024, myself and other empassioned community members founded the local advocacy group Strong Towns Madison to promote housing availability, safer streets, and a more human-centric urban fabric in the city. This work has opened my eyes to the signficance of the built environment in our everyday lives, and has given me the priviledge of coordinating with selfless city staff, determined development professionals, and brilliant neighborhood activists. The group has swelled to over 350 members, all pushing for a more livable, equitable future for Madisonians.
I consider myself lucky to live under a municipal administration that understands the severity of the housing affordability crisis. In May 2025, I accepted an appointment from Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway to serve as a Resident Member of the newly-created City of Madison Housing Policy Committee, designed to tackle this problem head-on. Through my tenure, I have pushed for bold policy reforms that encourage the creation of abundant housing opportunities, in the locations and forms that my nighbors need them most.
As important as civic engagement is as the City level, I'm equally drawn to action at the most local scale. With an eagerness to better the lives of those within my immediate vicinity, I ran for and was elected as a board member of the Marquette Neighborhood Association. There, I co-chair the Transportation and Safety and Preservation and Development committees, championing efforts to make our streets safer and further strengthen the lively, welcoming slice of Madison that so many have come to love.
I'm a huge advocate for making business personal, so reach out and ask away! My focus with this site is to make my journey through professional development more human; I strongly believe we are each more than Times New Roman font on a resume. I love the ways I spend my time- whether it be broadening my music taste, soaking in breathtaking sights, or exploring the natural world- so don't hesitate to strike up a conversation or ask me about anything.
